The relocation of the permanent exhibition entitled “Flora of Andros” to the Agadaki Estate in Patouria – together with the project’s Botanic Garden – was successfully completed. The exhibition is open to the public according to the Botanic Garden’s visiting schedule.

The family of Elli Stamatiadou expresses its gratitude to the Board of Directors of the Kaireios Library for providing the space to highlight Elli’s Mandaraka Stamatiadou work as a collector of 23,000 plants from our country. These collections are archived and form the basis of the collection of the Goulandris Museum of Natural History in Kifissia (Athens).

Elli Mandaraka Stamatiadou was born and grew up in the surroundings of the Agadaki Estate in Patouria. She worked at the Goulandris Museum of Natural History for 45 years collecting plants from all the Greek mountains. Her work received international recognition as she discovered 25 new plant species, two of which were named in her honour.
