Traditional dishes and products produced on Andros Island include:

  • Honey products, such as honey, royal jelly, pollen, propolis, beeswax, honey and nut cakes and pastries.
  • Oil and table olives
  • Dairy products, such as yogurt, various cheeses, such as petroti, volaki, gruyere, soft cheese, kopanisti, ladotyri
  • Almond products, such as raw almonds, almond cookies, soumada – an almond syrup from bitter almonds
  • Citrus preserves with most characteristic the “babiloni”, prepared from citrus blossoms and the preserve of rose
  • Vegetables, lemons, tangerines, oranges
  • Spirits, such as wine, tsipouro, raki, rakomelo, wine mead
  • And others, such as caper, sausages, oregano
